Privacy Policy
3CLenz-2026 LLC (“Cost Lenz,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides construction cost-tracking software available on the web at app.costlenz.com, through related iOS and Android apps, and with company information at costlenz.com (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Who this applies to
This policy applies to users of Cost Lenz, including organization admins and invited members, and to visitors who contact us for support or feedback.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Cost Lenz, we may collect:
- Account information: email address, authentication credentials (handled by our auth provider), password-reset activity, and organization/workspace membership details such as role (admin or member).
- Organization and invite data: organization name, invite emails, invite roles, invite status, and related timestamps.
- Project and financial content you enter: project details, budgets, cost codes, contracts, change orders, invoices, vendors, amounts, approval status, closeout checklist items, notes, contingency transfers, and related files or attachments you upload (for example invoice or contract PDFs/images, budget spreadsheets or photos, and export templates).
- Billing information: organization subscription status, plan/seat tier, trial and renewal timing, and Stripe customer/subscription identifiers. Card numbers and payment details are collected and processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Support and feedback: messages you send through in-app feedback or support, including your account email so we can reply.
- Technical data: basic device/browser or app information, IP address, timestamps, and diagnostic logs typically generated when you access a hosted service.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data beyond what is needed to operate account access, billing, and the project-cost features you choose to use.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, secure, and improve Cost Lenz
- Authenticate users and manage organization memberships and invites
- Store and sync project data across devices for authorized members
- Process subscriptions, trials, seat limits, and billing-related support
- Send transactional emails such as invites, password resets, and support replies
- Analyze uploaded documents when you use optional AI-assisted features
- Respond to feedback, investigate issues, and protect against abuse or fraud
- Comply with legal obligations
4. AI-assisted features
Optional features (for example budget import from a spreadsheet or photo, invoice or contract document reading, and export-template mapping) may send document content or extracted text you provide to a third-party AI provider solely to generate the requested analysis or structured result. Do not upload documents you are not authorized to process. We use these features to return results to your workspace; we do not sell that content. AI processing is subject to usage limits associated with your organization’s plan.
5. How we share information
We share information with service providers that help us operate Cost Lenz, including:
- Hosting and content delivery (for example AWS Amplify / CloudFront)
- Database, authentication, file storage, and serverless functions (for example Supabase)
- Payment processing and subscription billing (Stripe)
- Transactional email delivery (for example Resend)
- AI processing providers used for optional document analysis (for example Google Gemini)
These providers process data on our behalf under their terms and security controls. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale (with notice where appropriate).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share project data with other customers’ organizations.
6. Organization / workspace data
Cost Lenz is designed for team use. Organization admins can invite users, manage roles, manage billing for the organization, and access shared project data within their workspace. If you join an organization, members with appropriate permissions may see content you contribute there. Responsibility for internal access control within a customer organization rests primarily with that organization’s admins.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies or local storage as needed for authentication, session continuity, preferences (such as theme), and app functionality. Cost Lenz is not primarily an advertising product and does not use advertising trackers as part of core product functionality. The marketing website may use analytics tools if enabled; if so, those tools are described where they appear or in an updated version of this policy.
8. Data retention
We retain account and project data while your account/organization remains active and as needed to provide the Service. Deleted projects or records may be retained for a limited period in soft-deleted form before permanent removal, according to our operational practices. Billing records may be retained as required for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, or legal reasons. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us or by following the instructions at costlenz.com/delete-account; we will delete or de-identify personal data except where we must retain it for legal, security, or backup purposes. Organization-owned project data may remain available to remaining admins of that organization.
9. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards appropriate to a hosted SaaS application, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), authenticated access, and provider-side access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10. Children’s privacy
Cost Lenz is intended for business and professional use and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. International users
Cost Lenz may be hosted and processed in the United States or other locations where our providers operate. If you access the Service from another country, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
12. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Organization admins can also manage member access and billing settings within the product.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use of Cost Lenz after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
